"Newtown Shooting"

Would you consider the school shooting in Newtown to be a tragedy? During those terrible 10 minutes 26 people were shot. No one deserves to die by being shot. It not only affected the victims, but an entire nation. Adam Lanza was determined and focused on the task at hand suggesting that he may have had some form of mental illness. It seems that Mr. Lanza was trying to follow in the footsteps of previous mass shooters by killing the innocent and then taking his own life. There are many people in this world who have a mental illness but they do not shoot people. Yes, the Newtown shooting was a tragedy because it cost the lives of many innocent people, but changed the way we think about our schools forever.
Did anyone try to stop the shooter? According to eyewitnesses two brave women tried to stop him, the principal Dawn Hochsprung and the psychologist Mary Sherlach. They must have been very brave to try to save the faculty and children. It seems that in all of the other school shootings no one has been brave enough to even try to stop the shooter. Faculty says that Mr. Lanza went into a classroom were there was a sub and shot her and her class of 14 children. What a terrible thing for them to experience. That was innocent people who gave up there lives for a man who couldn't control himself. There were few people who actually tried to stop him...all failed.
